Mazda BT50

The 4x4 ute carries all your tools including chainsaws and climbing gear to the job site and can be used to pull trees over and drag out logs and branches.

It also has all our safety gear onboard such as first aid kit, spill response kit, fire extinguishers, work signs and witches hats.

It is fitted with a 300 litre fuel pod which makes it possible to re fuel our truck, wood chipper and excavator.

Mercedes Benz Unimog U1300L

This 4x4 truck is ex German military issue and converted to a tipper to tow our woodchipper. The Unimog series of trucks are renowned as some of the most capable offroad trucks on the planet and was purchased to service a need to access difficult terrain found on properties in North Coast NSW region.

It has front and rear diff locks and portal axles giving it an impressive amount of ground clearance. The wood chip bin on the back of the truck holds approximately 10 cubic metres of wood chip and its comparatively short wheelbase makes for easier manoeuvring in tight spaces. A work group gear set has been installed giving a reduction in ground speed for use offroad.

With front mounted hydraulic winch that can be utilised for pulling over trees, dragging heavy logs and getting out of sticky situations

Rayco RC1824 wood chipper

The Rayco RC1824 wood chipper is a 160 horse power high capacity 18" class wood chipper.

It tirelessly processes all the branches and logs even of toughest timber with ease. Its 24" wide throat opening and large top feed roller eats forky limbs all day.

Weighing in at over 4 tonnes it is not a small machine but super reliable and punches well above its weight when compared to other similar chippers.

The hydraulic winch helps to drag heavy material up into the feed rollers reducing manual handling and associated fatigue.

Hyundai R 60 CR-9 6 tonne excavator

The Hyundai excavator was chosen as a big but yet still little machine to get in and increase productivity on the job site and minimise the usual manual handling required to move heavy debris.

Fitted with a bespoke log grab made by Intermercato in Sweden and a worm drive rotator allows which allows the lifting of branches from any position.
This setup makes it possible to spin branches around to face the desired direction, feed the wood chipper at a rapid rate and even vertically hold trees that can be cut and moved in an upright orientation. When attached with FAE BL1 forestry mulcher it is possible to clear vegetation up to 100m diameter via the in the cab controls of the excavator.

Jobs like clearing lantana and other woody weeds are never much fun when done by hand but using the forestry mulcher large areas can be cleared without breaking a sweat.
